Technically they are covers, but not in the way you may be thinking.

It's too bad the OEM-style patterns aren't available. It would be really nice to get a repo that looked the same as stock.

Jim, as a fellow stock-****, I'm left wondering how much closer you want the patterns to be!?!? Here's comparison of stock 89 Medium beechwood, and my Hawk's Med. Beechwood. The top is the OEM as you can see the embroidered "CAMARO" in the lumbar section.
....of course, maybe it's another pattern that you're looking for.

the material is very different. It's even more obvious in person. When I walked around Carlisle 2 weekends ago, it was easy to spot the repop covers from 10' away. That doesn't mean they look bad... they look fantastic, but they don't look stock. The material used is very different. On the pics you posted above, you can see that the repops use a "fuzzy" material. The stock fabric wasn't fuzzy at all... it wasn't even soft to the touch. The differences are even more obvious on the 86 and older cars that used a striped fabric.
I considered these covers for my IROC, but what it boiled down to for me, was that if it wasn't going to look 100% stock, why not just go to 4th gen seats?
What I'd really like to do now is recover the 4th gen seats in OEM thirdgen fabric.

Jim you are absolutely correct. In your original post, you said "pattern", and so that's where I was disagreeing.
The material is most definetely different. To me, the factory look and more important, the factory color, was what was most important. If there were 4th gen seats in Med. Beechwood, I may have gone that route.
Either way, it's a great product, but no, it's not 100% OEM.

I also doubt a non-thirdgenner would notice, unless you mentioned it. Maybe a SERIOUS car nut would notice. I got my doorpanels from Hawk's too, so the material would match.
I defend them so much because I guess deep down, I guess I wish they were OEM, and they're not.

I couldn't find it in there catalog, so I called bruce. I asked him to send me the closest thing he had to Medium beechwood, and that I'd like to see some samples. Sure enough, the samples were pretty darn close to my original Med.Beechwood.

seats
Same seats advertised in Classic Industries for half the price
I can attest to the quality, as I bought a set for my 84 last year,
no warranty issues yet, but they supposedly back them for 3 years
You gotta scan closely the pictues don't always match the descriptions, or call them, they're very helpfull.

Those are the same as Hawk's....and Classic Industries, and just about everyone else. It's some place outta California, and lots of people are carrying them now.
They do have the correct patterns, but the material is not quite the same.
....great product if you ask me!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. Since I'm far from a stock ****, and the seats themselves were still in good condition, I figure it was a nice change of pace. Considering the car had grey leather originally, the new covers add a lil flash to it. Now I need carpet. The new covers kinda kill the carpet now.
