82-84 TA Ground Effects

Has anyone tried to put the ground effects or "wheel flares" from an 82-84 Trans Am on a Firebird without any effects at all? They're the 4 plastic pieces that mount in front of each wheel(not to be confused with the 84 TA aero package) I like they way they flare out from the body and would like to add them to my 90 Formula.

I'll attach a pic...

hmm I don't think you'd have a problem mounting them...I have them on my 82. I think you might need to drill two holes other than that I believe you already have the proper holes underneath the nose. I have an extra set, if you're interested PM me.

Don't know about actually mounting them but I always loved the idea and wanted to see it done to a formy. Would've done it to mine had I not wrecked it.

Hrmm

I got an 83 TA and one firebird fender.

You need to drill two holes into the fender, but they are not perfectly level, one hole is higher then the other.

Once you get the flare pieces just line it up and drill the holes. I can get you some measurements if you like. Just e-mail me.

EMHaugland@yahoo.com. It might be a few days before I reply.

I would also like to see those flares on a Formy. I think it would look very nice.

Thanks for the interest guys. If I can get my hands on 4 good pieces, I'm going to try 3M molding adhesive tape to mount them. This way I dont have to drill holes in the fender and 1/4 panel that I might regret later.
