Trim paint

I have blue trim in my 89/86 trans ams, I want to change them to the tan trim, should I order tan ones, or could I just paint them which will cost me less?

If its possible to paint them, and get factory look, could someone tell me how I should do it without messing it up, and what paint to use?

And by the way whats a good site to order factory seats from, besides ebay since I can't find any tan color :'(

Trim Paint,Go With Deltron 2 Pack.......

Hi there,
I myself have encountered this problem many times,I have found the best way is to use a quality two Pack paint like Deltron(ppg),The correct primer amd adhesion promoter, then obviously your colour coat.I then laquer on top of this, you must use a small amount of flexible additive for the flexible plastics. The finish is stunning, and VERY durable, the only down side is that you are left with a very shiny finish, for a more standard finish you could try some matting agent.I have tried the proper plastic Dyes,i have found them very watery, very time consuming, and non impressive results. The last time i tried it i purchased the whole package from the same company, the cleaner, the prep, the dye,the finisher, the top coat, the finish was s!!t.I have even done a dash pad with two pack, the results were great, and the finish lasted the time i had the car.I live in the UK so you guys may be able to get better quality Dyes than I can.If you are interested i can go into more depth. On buying the trims i would imagine they would cost a fortune?????

WARNING ON MY ABOVE ARTICLE....

Hi there i forgot to say that one disadvantage with two pack is that you absolutely must wear a suitable mask(preferably air fed),also if possible spray outside where you wont get a build up of Vapours.

I would try to find a beige set from the junkyard before painting them. Even if you find a set and still dye them any scratches you get will be less noticiable.
