Getting Painted Monday....what to do now?
I have to give my IROC on monday to the painters...I'm just wondering what I should do to it now & what I've not thought about doing. I have to take the interior door panels off to fix the fabric on them, I need a headliner, the t-tops leak horribly, I have one mismatched front rim from an 88, and the steering column is loose as all hell, etc etc etc...
This in mind...what else might I consider doing before / while the car is being taken apart and put back together? Something that likely would tear up a paint job if done any other time?
Also, what's the best source(s) for new weatherstripping, and any other parts I might need? I saw the t-top door set from gmpartsdirect.com for $193-something. I saw Hawks' headliners and a couple others, all in the 180-200 range. I can't seem to win a single matching rim on ebay, and they're in apparently short supply in the junkyards around the U.S., I guess.
Just looking for some well thought-out advice. Thanks all

The rims I know you can get a whole used set of IROC rims from F-Body Motorsports for $400 maybe they can sell you an individual one, or get the set and ebay your three to help recoupe the costs. The t-top seals are $265 for the whole set from F-Body and the headliner can be really cheap to recover yourself if the cardboard is still in one piece, you can get the material from autozone for $30. F-Body sells a kit that comes with a plastic headliner with your choice of fabric color, sunvisors and sail panels for $245, or just the headliner for $150. They seem to be your best bet and are a little cheaper than Hawks for some stuff. Their website is www.fbodymotorsports.com

BTW I do not work for F-Body Motorsports! I am just down there all the time looking at a bunch of stuff I can not afford. Plus I like staring at the IROC in their showroom that has a LS1/6 spd swap pretending my car looked like that under the hood.

theres a local camaro salvage yard that may help you www.tacreationsusa.com very good stuf!
strip as much of the car as you can....gfx, doors, hood, etc. take off your interior door pannels as well as the trim on the door sills if your getting them painted.
depending on how elaborate your painting you should disassemble the car as much as possible. remove the windshield, emblems, etc.
if you think it should come off it should....if you think it might come off it should and if you don't think it should come off it still should.

I highly recommend Hawks over F-body Motorsports. GM Parts Direct and ebay are good resources as well, if you can Ebay carefully enough.
Here's some good info for headliners: https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sho...65#post1905365
