5 inch spoiler installed
I finally figured out how to do this I think. Here's my car with the 5 inch spoiler painted and installed on my 82 Z-28.

I think that is the first one i have seen done and painted i am thinking i am liking it.O by the way nice car.
what kinda rims are those? what size? this car looks great. kinda looks like an old school thirdgen. i like that look. it reminds me of something a kid drove to high school back in the late 80's early 90's then just parked and now its back out and being driven again. keep up the nice work

Hey 85rock, I'm sure you have seen it around. As for the rims, they are made by Progressive, I think maybe a spin off of American Racing. I've had them on the car for 10 years now. Yes, it is kind of the stock car look, or more like the old trans-am series. That is a look that's always appealed to me yet is still hot rod looking with lettering and all that I have on the car. As for the mud flaps, well they're clear and not really noticable except for the red bowties on the back ones. They help protect the paint since before the paint job in 93 the car was terribly beat up and blasted from road debris. I've had this car for 20 years and this current configuration and paint has been on there for 10 years. Thanks for the compliments everyone, this is an ongoing project that I enjoy tremendously.

Hey I like that, I was coming home from work today and noticed a third gen at a stop light as I was turning going the opposite direction as him... it had that wing too, I think it was a firebird though... I thought it looked awsome... BTW, I have never done something like this before, how do you go about putting a wing on?

I really like the look of that spoiler. I already have the factory "duck tale" spoiler on my RS. Does that spoiler bolt up in the same holes as the shorter factory version?

Do you have the original 3-piece spoiler? If so you should be able to put the 5 inch spoiler on. Call Hawks and talk to them and they will be able to better tell you if it will fit.

Remyr
Mine was also the 3-piece and when you put this new one on from Hawks, it just really changes the look of the car. I put my old one back on while I was waiting for new one to be painted and after having the new one on for a month or so before paint, it was hard to look at the old one on the car. I like the look of it alot.
