I have the same problem with my 82 Firebird. It lines up prefect on one side but sticks up on the other. I have read the article on the link but imagine that since the misalignment is only on one side trying to re aline will only through out the other side. I don't think that this will do anything for the sticking up problem, but maybe I'm wrong. It would be interesting to see if anyone has followed this article and fixed the problem.

I recently took on this task a few weeks ago...I now have a spoiler that lines up, but for some reason i could not get the decklid centered, one side is just a smidge more towards the quarter than the other, not that it's a major deal, but i noticed.. ..as for stickin up, I wonder if a new set of struts would do the trick, mine does stick up slightly higher on one side, but not sure why. One feasible reason could be diagnosed where the window hatch attached to the actual car by the roof?. Don't know if this helped or not, but follow the tech article. I was kind of intimidated at first until i got in there and saw just how easy it would be. Oh and in the tech article it states to have a friend present, that is a must, either that or a wife that is pissed off, because you made her help....lol....

On my car as for lining up to the quater panels thats fine. It sticks out and up a little on the passenger side. I have new structs fitted and that didn't solve the problem. I also tried to do adjust where the hatch glass bolts to the body but that did nothing either.

i wonder if there is more sealant tape stuff on that side and that is what is holding that side up. did you try to measure the space on the glass to the hatch. this may help tell if it is the hatch mounting or the entire deck and glass.
