Are the rear bumper braces interchangeable?
I'm wondering if any 82-92 F-body rear bumper brace will fit my 82 TA. What about a 4th gen?
Also I'm curious how much a used brace would go for.

I'm not 100% sure, but the actual metal rear bumper (impact bar) looked the same to me when I swapped the stock '83 bumper for a '91 Formula bumper. I just used the whole '91 assembly because the plastic impact absorber was already mounted to it.
I think you should be able to mount your plastic (eggcrate) absorber to any 82-92 Firebird impact bar- although the holes might not line up from the plastic part to the steel part. Someone correct me if you know differently.
I know for a fact the bar will bolt into place onto the car (4 bolts on each side). You might try eBay and find a nice rust-free one from down south or out west. You're not going to find any decent ones in a Milwaukee junkyard.
By the way, just to depress you-- I gave away my rust-free '83 impact bar when I installed the '91 bumper. They're not that valuable (and a PITA to ship) so I didn't bother to list it on eBay. Happy hunting.

I googled "firebird rear impact bar" and found this site. They list 82-90 as being the same. They get $59 for a used one.

That brings my hopes down about a 92 Camaro one working, but I'm going to research more.
Thanks for the help so far.
