87 IROC Floor Lights won't connect to Panel

Just noticed that I never really had the lfloor lights in my IROC so I opened up the panel and found the connector - it is not shaped with the 4 notches in it, just 2 on the sides. How is this supposed to fit to my under-dash panel? Anyone else have connectors like this for their underdash lights?

Put the connector in the panel and give it a 1/4 turn and it will be in place.

It won't fit! It is a rectangle shape, with the one side being about twice as long as the other, It will NOT just go in, 1/4 turn, and you're done!

I bet your car never came with the plastic under panels and those light plugs were the ones that clipped/screwed to the kick panels. Someone added the hush-panels and couldn't get the lights clips to work in them, so they left them off.

Maybe?

The light bulb plugs into the connector, it just won't plug into the panel...I will get some pics eventually
