Quick and easy power mirror question
Quick and easy power mirror question
I'm taking the power mirrors out of a 89 Camaro and installing them into my 86 Trans Am. The only way I can get them to work, because the wiring is tied into the power locks, is to have them hot all the time.
So my question is are the power mirrors hot all the time? Can they be used with the key out of the car?
Thanks

Are you sure its spliced into the lock harness? They should be a seperate harness. They are all taped together in the door but I think they are seperate.

I'm with Steve86TA. At least in my 84 TA, the morror harness is separate from the lock harness. I don't see why the camaro would have them wired differently. Even if they're taped together where it goes into the door, they should be separable. As for if they're hot or switched, I'm not sure... i don't have my bird running yet
