Im having some problems with my power windows in my 91 Z. IT seems as though BOTH motors are going out....is there a relay I can check on them? I had NO problems before yesterday and I had the windows down for a bit......went to roll them up, they went up bout halfway and stopped. I waited a min and they went up a little bit more. They finally went back up. I went out this morning and checked them and they were fine....weird huh?? Did they just overheat? Also, my hatch is shot.....I adjusted it down where it would close all the way, but it rattles and shakes alot.....what should I check first? I did check the power coming into the relay....its getting 12V. Just wondering what else I could look at...to maybe see if its the motor, etc. Thanks in advance.....

 

Both your motors are probably shot... there are internal circuit breakers that trip when the motor is working too hard, (worn out), that's why they stop working for 30-40 seconds and then they work again for a short time... you need to change those bad boys out!!! It is a royal PITA but you'll be glad you did it... I did mine on the passenger side two days ago. It will help GREATLY if you have someone there to assist you.
