What's the racket!?!

I bought my '82 Trans Am from a professional racer back around graduation. She sat for two years being ignored. My dad and I are restoring her. There's an annoying deep vibration in the back end, maybe extuast. I know it's not the tire spare.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

you start every post with this line. "I bought my '82 Trans Am from a professional racer back around graduation. She sat for two years being ignored. My dad and I are restoring her."

then you ask a question.

STOP IT!

I had a bad vibration in the back of my bird. It was the heat shield for the gas tank. its between the muffler and gas tank (duh). Mine was missing a few screws so it was hangin low> give that a try....

Not to defend this gentelman but LT1 is not exclusive for RPO coding to the 93+cars or a 93+ fuel injected motor (i.e. A glance at the intake won't tell you jack **** unless you are a diehard GM aficionado and the motor is 100% original (outside))...
The original high-performance LT1 engine, a 350-cu.-in. "Small Block," was introduced in 1970. It generated 370 horsepower. That year, the "Big Block" displacement was increased to 454 cu. in., and was rated at 390 horsepower in the LS5 version.

Tranny mount
Loose jack/spare tire
Loose rear suspension parts or hitting bump stops
