Re-attaching rear bumper emblem
How do I go about re-attaching the rear Z-28 emblem? I dont want to use the 3m adhesive since it will eat the paint. And Im not sure how thick the 3m double sided tape is and I dont want the emblem to stick out. Any ideas? Does anybody make a really thin double sided tape?
Yo, Mike
I don't know much about emblem adhesives, but my idea would be to check around for a gel or other semi-liquid adhesive. It would be better than thin double-sided tape....although it would probably either eat the paint or be rather unfriendly to it upon removal. Nevermind - I don't think my idea would work for your application. Dammit anyway...here I thought I had something good. Heh. At least I gave your post a bump

hey sup man thanks for the bump
Im still searching for something that will work. I dont want to buy a new emblem since they are like 30 bucks and the one I have is in perfect condition. They are red 91-92 Z emblems
They look good, they are like a metallic red and should go good with my black paint. Once I get my emblems on and finish up some other things I will post up new pics of my ride

Too bad you don't have an IROC w/red emblems or I'd send you a rear panel one for nothing; I was considering being a moron and doing a color change on my IROC (going from Bright Blue Metallic and silver to black and red) instead of restoring it, so I dropped the 30 bones on a red emblem instead of the now-extinct gray ones. Bah. Live and learn though, right?
Put up some pics of that Z! The '91 and '92 Z28s ROCK

edit: Hm...how much are you willing to spend? I get, like, a 30% discount at my local dealer and I could probably hook you up if they can still get the emblems. Let me know and I'll ask 'em.

Ah both color schemes are sweet, tough choice
I pm'd you about the Iroc one
If you can still get the emblems that would be cool, just let me know how much, I can just have one saved just in case.
If you want some pics for now check out this thread link I just got the car painted black

Yeah, they're both sweet color schemes, but I decided (after I couldn't find emblems anymore, of course
) to go with my original scheme which is Bright Blue Metallic with black and silver striping. The car is currently being taken down to the last nut and bolt for a full restoration. Check these out, mang: http://www.webster.edu/ftleonardwood/images/IROC/
Oh, and I also have a grille insert with 'CAMARO' on it if you're interested, although I'm pretty sure that yours originally came with a bowtie insert. Let me know if you want it and I'll see if I can dig it up and what shape it's in. I know that I repainted it a semi-gloss black and handpainted the 'CAMARO' in white after I dropped the crate motor in, but I don't recall if it's cracked.
