What does resistor do?

What do the little squiggly resistor wires on the inside of the heater box do? (I'm assuming that's what they are- they were called resistor wires by someone on another board)

Might reference resister to control speed of blower motor.

yup...that's all they do...the thinner ones with more twists offer more resistance= lower speeds...thicker= higher speeds..
