Saturn seats ---> Camaro interior

I found these REALLY nice black leather seats, only thing is, it's off a saturn. i want to put them in my camaro, cause the seats i have now are moldy and smell pretty bad. anyone know if you can convert the saturn seat to fit the camaro floor bolts, or do i have to costum make the seat brackets?

Don't really know but there are a bunch of GM seats that will bolt to the stock Camaro seat brackets that are on your seats now.

you could weld new seat threads to the floor pans for the saturn seats? If you dont want to fab up a new bracket. and swapping the seat tracks doesnt work.

if you try hard enough you can fabricate anything. I've seen 96 Civic seats in a 78 Camaro.

Lok at the seat rails and take measurements and look at the seat rail and measure those then compare the 2, one problem your gonna probably come into is that the rail will either be to short and not bolt in, 2. the rail on camaro seats sit lower int he back than they do in the fron so you might have to create a spacer for the seat to sit evenly.

Like I said anything can be done with patience and fabricating.

well i looked, and these seats sit low, and tilt back, just like the camaro, so that's why i thought they'd fit, but the bracket in the saturn is bolted sideways, not straight to the floor...so....might take a bit.

I've got some late model Cavalier Z24 seats in my '89 Camaro now. They bolted RIGHT in once I swapped the seat tracks from the Camaro to the Cavalier seats.

Like was previously mentioned, you can fabricate just about anything to work if you want to take the time/effort to modify it "correctly".

Good Luck.

The Saturn is made by GM... you will probably be able to swap fairly easy

ok, this will help a lot then, so i don't have to make anything. i'll go get the seats today, and then swap the tracks.

let's hope they fit.

Um, I wouldn't go get them yet. The saturn seats that I pulled out won't work. The rails are welded/part of the whole seat frame and can't really be changed. There are no bolts on the bottoms of the seats to mount the 3rd gen tracks. To adapt the saturn tracks you need to bend one mounting tab down and weld it and then completely turn and reweld another one. Not sure if all saturns seats are like this, but the ones I pulled are. They were out of an older SC2.

i think it was a 1991 SL2 or SC2, don't remember, but yeah, i noticed one had to be bent down, and i couldn't see the back one, it was covered. i know someone who has a welder and plasma cutter, so that should be taken care of. i'll check if they're welded to the actual frame of the seat and let you guys know. good thing i checked this, and it that it rained today, otherwise i would have already had em
