anyone know what it cost to have a new transam ramair hood painted at a bodyshop.

 

Well...
Just crunching numbers real quick, on the calculator, not really a real estimate... @300.00
That's just sanding down and refinish underside and outside.
Base coat/ clearcoat, one color, no show finish, no custom stripes and or flames, blending to match old paint would be extra.
Here's a breakdown
Paint laobr... 5.0 hours @ 40.00 per (taking into account the size of those hoods)
materials... 5.0 hours @ 20.00 per
tax extra... on materials only

The thing that burns ya, is, say you're goin' black...
You want the hood block sanded and primed at least a couple times, They don't spend a whole lotta time molding those puppies... so they ain't perfect.
We just finished a job for a customer that was a PITA!!!!
He bought the hood and had it dropped shipped, for an '03 Silverado... We did a fit before paint, the hood edges were too thick, and had to be filed down the whole length of one side.
Then you gotta fine-tooth it for pinholes, that only seem to show up after it's cleared!!!!
