Replacing Rubber Seals
I need to replace all my rubber seals (T-top, windows, trunk) but not sure where the best place to get the seals is and if i should do it or have someone else do it. Those of you that have done this how much did it set you back?

look at spending around id say 300+ to replace every bit of weatherstripping and thats buying it off ebay a lil cheaper than retail in most cases....1aauto.com has all the weatherstripping you could need for a reasonable price as well its expensive rubber

The cheapest place for seals is GM parts direct, also pace performance aren't bad. I would recommend that you fit Genuine GM seals, I know they are a lot dearer but the aftermarket stuff like what you see on ebay just doesn't fit. I replaced all my seals a year ago. I bought aftermarket stuff first. I think they were called softseal. They were a disaster. the doors won't close properly. I ended up throwing them in the bin and ordering genuine GM. It's very easy to fit Genuine seals, I had no problem.

I have soffseal stuff & haven't had a problem with any sealing issues for about a year now
Guess some are lucky & some aren't when it comes to aftermarket stuff weatherstripping. But I totally agree also that genuine GM weatherstripping fits the best.

That's good to hear you hadn't a problem. I bought the door seals and window seals. Both were a disaster. There were gaps between the window and the seal that water could get in and as I said when I fitted the door seals I couldn't get the door to close without slaming it hard. It's good to hear that these things work for somebody. If someone wants to fit seals themselves and doesn't want any hassle then GM seals are the way to go in my opinion.

I have soffseal t-top gaskets and door gaskets on my IROC. I've had friends go through 2 or 3 sets of GM gaskets and still have their t-tops leak, so I decided to use the soff-seal. They seal beautifully, and just press into place. I didn't even have to glue them in.
The door gaskets aren't quite so nice. There is too much material at the top front part of the door on both sides, but it's a spot that's not noticable and really has no effect other than irritating me. Overall I'm not disappointed enough to replace them with OEM, but if I could do it over I'd use OEM door gaskets.

I'm replacing mine tonight so I'll let you know. Got them from year one. Hopefully it fits better than their awful carpets.

I did some searching on this topic since it's been talked about before. In conclusion, I think it really is just a hit or miss with seals & weatherstripping. Maybe it depends on where it was made, etc. etc. lol! Oh well. I too will stick with Genuine GM the next time I have to do all my seals.
I'm just glad my seals worked out for me after hearing the horror stories from others with the same brand. hehe

Just to throw in my
,
I had replaced my T Top seals with Factory GM. Was not easy
removing the old sealant inside the channels! I spent about
an hour or so scraping the crap out! Installing took half the
time than removing/prepping! These were done over a year
ago. Since then no more leaks ( knocking on wood!). I also
replaced my T top bar as well. It got rusted out. That too,
was a brand new GM replacement part. So far so good. No
problems. For my doors, I also used brand new GM replacement.
No problems there also. Everything fit fine.
On my rear hatch seal, I went with Soffseal from 1aauto off
Ebay. That too has held up fine. All my seals are held in with
silicone sealant. So it helps keep the weatherstripping in place.

Well I almost finished one side. It got dark so I just quit for the night. It looks great and is going smoothly except the front piece that borders the windows is a pain. The one corner is a bit larger than stock but I don't mind, I'll just glue it down a bit more. I reccomend the kit from year one if they still offer it. This thing is a few years old.

$400? That sounds a bit steep.
Anyway, just buy some caulking for a temporary fix. It worked for over a year but I don't want to push it so I'm replacing it all.
