T-top bags and why I hate mine...
My car looks awful becuase the rubber T-top trim (on the t-top) always gets ripped and slowly falls down. I decided after a second ruined set that the t-top bag is what does it. When I put them in the bag, the fit is so tight that it bends the rubber down and never quite goes back. Does this happen to everyone or am I doing it wrong (which isn't really possible).

I've noticed that too when putting my t-tops in the bag. I can't see any way to avoid it and every thirdgen i've seen has the same problem with the trim. I've also noticed that the fourthgen t-tops have smaller trim and i've never seem it torn on one of those. Maybe GM saw this problem too..

It's understandable your frustration with the bag, many have vented their troubles both with the tops themselves and the method in which the factory suggests you secure them. You either like the bag it and use it properly, or don't.
Personally I would suggest removing the tops and placing them somewhere in your garage, on a blanket or something of that nature.
There are a few good ideas in the thread below, as well. Just disregard my vehement defense of the bag, I'm one of the few who have grown quite fond of it.

Oh dear that 2x4 idea is awful. I'd rather risk getting caught in a rain storm. Atleast my louver would keep anyone from seeing that. I'll stick with the bag then. Maybe I'll replace the rubber with some flexible plastic like I've have in this kit I bought.

Definitely needed to clarify that.

I'm sure I'll come up with something...
