welder questions
just wondering if anyone knew anything about welders, mig welders vs gas, types of welds, what would you use on a car. just looking to gather some info on them because im thinking of getting one, mainly for car use. so anyone know anything about them what you recommend what you would stay away from.

Try to stick with name brands if within your price range: Miller, Lincoln, etc...
Our daily workhorse is a Millermatic 130. 110 welder, Great for sheetmetal. goin' on about 8 years of everyday use!!!
220 welders are nice too, but kinda overkill in this day and age.(Unless you're doin' some heavy duty stuff too.)
I've got a cheappie at home but it gets hot and you gotta stop if you're doin' anything extensive.
I had an employee that had a Century and had everything he needed for home use.
Solar is another off brand, but I'm not sure of the quality...

Axle/Gears: ones with teeth
you will want gas mig for good welds the flux mig stuff sucks for most fine work. it tends to splatter alot so for any work on the car where neatness does count a good 110 volt gas mig will do the trick.
