t-top glass replacement - hardware swap

Anybody swap attachment hardware from one t-top to another before? I had one shatter the other day on me and picked up a junkyard replacement. I want to swap the attachment hardware from my original top onto the replacement. It appears that the hardware is attached to the glass with some sort of adhesive. Am I seeing that right? If so, any input on an effective adhesive for putting things back together.

I'm also worried about correct placement of the hardware onto the glass. Hopefully there is some sort of indication or foolproof way to correctly locate the hardware on the glass....

Thanks for any info,
MikeS

It's an 87 w/factory glass t-tops. It looks like the glass is glue to the part that all of the attachment mechanism mounts to. I think this is going to absolutely suck trying to get all of the busted glass unglued from the metal/plastic part.

Two reasons I need to swap the mechanisms:
1) my replacement t-top does not lock like the original did.
2) I made a foolish mistake and have a "hook style" replacement for my "pin style" original.

I suppose the other choice is to search some more for a pin style replacement.
