tire hitting aero ground f/x
I just recently installed the '90-92 aero ground f/x on my '86 sportcoupe. I have 255/50/16 tires all around on '86 IROC wheels. The rear part of the front tires hit the rocker panel ground f/x pretty good now when I turn the tire sitting still. Looking at my clearance in front and behind the tire I have lots more clearance in front of the tire then behind it. Shouldn't the front tires be centered in the front wheelwell?
Has anyone else seen this problem when upgrading to the newer aero style f/x? I don't have any bent front end parts as the car drove perfectly straight, no pulling or vibrations. The whole steering was replaced with the PST kit.

The clearance issue is not that uncommon, it's the shape of the later GFX. It sticks into the tire area further than the ealier style that was square instead of curved. Does the car normally sit that high? If it was a little lower it would clear easier, if you look at the design of the GFX you will see what I mean.

I understand that the aero f/x is slightly longer then normal f/x slightly and protrudes into the wheelwell some but didn't '90-92 cars with the aero f/x come with 16" wheels also? This shouldn't be a problem.
My car sits at stock ride height. It looks higher then it is because of the camera shot, I was laying down trying to get a picture of the front tire not centered in the wheelwell. I know it's stock ride height because I just installed replacement springs all around (MOOG).
Is is possible that my caster needs adjusted to properly center the tire in the wheelwell?

when is the last time you had the car aligned? I was messing around with my other car and there is all kinds of adjustment that you can do with the struts. But it would be best to see what your alignment specs are and compare them to a 91-92 see if there is any difference at all. If not go have it aligned. That's all i can think of
