I just screwed in the mounting bracket to the "impact plastic" behind the cover. Lined it up with the opening in the grilles. Lets light out, yet stays consealed.

Hey thanks... that'll work, I was gonna rig up a bracket that connected to the metal bumper but this will be a LOT easier!

I used to have a "how to" section on my website with pictures but the whole site is gone now. 
If you take off the front grills right behind them and above is the gray impact plastic. Makes for a secure mounting location. Like I said, I did this back in 1998 and they are still there.
Let us know how they turned out.
