window motor

window motor

I need help on removing and installing window motor on a 91 Z28 i pulled the door panel off and disconnected old motor drilled out the two pop rivets on the motor but the mototr wont come out do i need to remove the other pop rivets higher up can someone give me step by step instructions just want to get it right the frist time

i think there is 4 rivets to remove to high and 2 low if not there is at least three.

it is a pain in the rear to change the window motors i just converted my doors from manual to power yesterday. u need to remove all window tracks and the grind the 4 rivets out. i took my window macanism and where the rivets went through i welded 1/4 ich nuts on them.:rockon:

how did you pull of the door pnl? did u pull the actual metal piece of the innder skin? or the plastic cover piece? i heard u couldnt remove the actual door itself.... let me know how u did it, thanks...

i took the hold door panle off, and i was replacing my door hinges so my doors were off the car any ways., when the door panel is off there is anouther plastic type of stuff covering all the big holes in the door you take that off and then you drill out the 4 rivets holding the moter in. after the moter is free then it will slid out one of the holes in the door when you put the new moter in you use the bolts that come with the kit.

can u send a pic? someone told me the door was welded in place and that i had to reach my hands inside the door holes to reach the motor but my hand wont fit..
