Leaking Trunk

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but I didn't see it so here goes. Why does the bottom of my trunk get soaking wet all the time after it rains? I've had two different 3rd gens and in both of them they leaked or water got in or whatever. I'll have something in the bottom of the trunk, and then when it rains it will get soaking wet. The carpet and everything are soaked, the only things that stay dry are the top deck part of the trunk. I was just wondering what the deal is.

If the weatherstipping is still in good shape and not crushed or cracked, the most likely place is the backmost edge of the rear window where it meets the metal below your spoiler. I had to remove the spoiler and metal cover, and used sealer to seal the edge end the holes where the spoiler bolts on.
