missing trim

smokefan - I'm talking about the 3" fiberglass trim that goes around the intire beltline of the car where the fiberglass integrates into the steel. If you look at the second pic front the top (the small side shot of the front) the trim stops where the front nose starts. I also don't see it on the back bumper. This looks pretty strange. I prefer the blended-in look, which takes more work, but the beltline trim saves lots of time, and gives it that OEM look. Anyway, where is the missing trim that you got in the kit? Also, it looks like you may be missing the 6"x2" fiberglass hood wedge that blends into the center front tip of the hood. Maybe it's there, and I can't see it. What I would do if I were you, I would spend another $275 on the 4-piece wide body kit like the blue car, and blend the entire thing in. Ofcourse that means a repaint, but it would look really mean. I've never seen a black one done that way yet. BTW, no I don't have any ZR1 taillight kit.

i am going to order the the wide body kit as soon as i get the car running and do some other mods to it. i just had the car painted last year but i am not that happy with it. i was thinking of going with a candy apple red or a reddish/orange color. do you have a picture of what the pieces that come in the kit that i am missing.

I dunno those body kits make our cars look to **** rockety...I like the danko fenders though. Ill probably buy those because i have a 4th gen rear end on my car. I like the wide rear look.

you really on get that "wide rear end look" when you're using the incorrect wheel backspacing....get some 4th gen wheels, and, poor fit is gone...oh by the way, did anyone happen to notice this red "custom" thirdgen on ebay. Was an 82 camaro if memory is correct, red w/ black racing stripes, nice looking paint, chrome irocs, wood trim for the guages, radio, and console, maybe the pass compartment too, and the seats were done in red and black also like the car's stripes....was alright looking, stock engine, and a 4th gen axle. Bad part is that the IROcs were sticking 2 inches out on each side. Couldn't believe the car got all the wya to like 5,200 bux, for an 82 camaro. That's about the same as you'd get for a 4th gen in decent shape now.

I don't know.. I couldn't even find Chevy on their dropdown list. it's all ****. If it looks anything like the firebird unit, I don't care for it. seems too Boy Racer. I prefer the classy performance look... but then again, I'm 38 years old!

the paint job it cost 400 bucks to get it painted from a place called fender menders here in connecticut. the guy who owns it use to own a macco shop until he was sick of payingall of thoese franchising fees so he started a new company. same quality as macco thou. but on the flip side of it for 400 bucks it looks a hell of alot better than in primer

Smokefan, BTW, I also noticed in the frontal pic of the black Danko that you don't have the grille trays installed. These fiberglass trays complete the void between the 2 lower central air intakes, and the front and the radiator support. Guys with hi-performance engines complained that without these panels it would overheat. They also make the car look much better since they make it so you can't see the driveway inside the lower gfx. If you need some, I think I have an extra used set sitting around.

Listen... when I designed it in 91, there was no such thing as a sunfire. In the album your will notice 3 different nose designs. The last one (and only one available) is the one like the blue or yellow car.

one thing about body kits is you either love them or hate them. when i was in high school everyone was either driving a camaro or mustang. i always wanted to stand out so back than i had the ferreri door kit on and the f40 wing. the car stood out from everyone elses ride. now i have this car with the kit and i still get tons of looks. some like it and some dont but you can't win them all.

P.S for any of you nascar fans SMOKE WON SMOKE WON!!!!

I'd have to take an axe to your rear bumper cover just to stop you from giving anyone else such a bad idea....

The front is okay, but it would need 300zx headlights to even begin to look right.

I love body kits, the front looks great!

But that rear......ouch.........ouch........just looks like sewer pipe sitting out in the open

I'd move the exhaust to the extreme cornors and use rectangle tips like they use on 4th gens. But to each his own.

I'm sorry, this thing was made for posers, anyone willing to put it on a thirdgen has a severe mental disfunction and needs to have they're head checked so a doctor can determine how they mistaked a camaro for a civic.

That body kit disgusts me in the worst way possible

There is nothing wrong with centered exhaust. Saleen and SLP have been doing it for years! Heck so have I. My 4 square centered tips (under plate) did not turn out as well with this last exhaust performance makeover. The mandrel bends interfered with the routing, so they ended up too wide. So I'm going in to 2 retangles centered under the plate. Will see how that looks soon! Just have to get time to get to the shop again! His wks hours are the same as mine!

Smokefan...glad to here its up and running. I like it alot better with the 2 smaller versus the one larger. Can't wait to see more pics of it!

I like how if you do anything other than hang a new air freshener almost everyone on here claims ryce WTF people....BE DIFFERENT

if everyone had the same looking camaro there would be nothing special about yours....

personally I like the kit.....the big single port exhaust in the center was a mistake but it looks like lesson learned.....looks sharp and I say if you are pleased with the overall process then everyones opinion is just that......

thats what all r!cers say, you should put a big wing on next along with some ugly sticker graffics so you can be different just like all the other r!icers out there? Sorry if he wanted a r!ced out 300Zx then he should have gotten one. Sorry its r!ced end of story, now if that was done to a honda how would it be any different?

Well Im not what YOU would call a rycer......A custom enthusist yes I dont believe a big wing and a body kit MAKES the car but I do believe if done tastefully it could end in a very nice customised car......Take the evoluzion body kit......I think thats the best thing that could have ever happend to a third gen.....lots of fab work blood sweet and tears involved in a process like that.....Then on the othen hand you have red necks that paint a rebel flag on top their car and run straight pipes into glass packs......TO EACH THEIR OWN......thats what seperates yours, mine and everybodys elses cars apart from STOCK....

Stomaches too.

Just kidding. I'm with the "front end looks alright, rear end look like hell" group. Wanting to look different is fine, but that doesn't mean it can't be done with good taste.

Dont worry I'll take you on the turns, and beside all the money I saved by not being different I'll be making a killer 383. So you'll still be slower, uglier and cant turn all while getting beat by my nissan pickup

like most, i like the front, not crazy bout the rear. i think its those vents on either side of the exhaust. i think it'd look better smooth. and i think the C5 Tips tips would look good, and domestic. but overall it dont look bad i guess.

yes the back is the only part that i dont like of the kit. its the vents like alot of people have said. maybe next year when i repaint it i will redo the vents. my main concern is that i get it tuned. at least i beat my friends monte street racing. the car is a constant 12.7 in the 1/4 so i would say that i am low 12's as of now but cant say nothing until i hit the track

anybody have pics ofthe wide body panels

I am running 335's in the back, they are gonna stick out a bit, and I believe that the wide kit would let them tuck. Any thoughts??? Am I right? I am also running 275's on 9.5" rims up front. The rears are 11".

Thx, later
