Popup headlight delete part 3.14159

So I went ahead and bought headlight replacements for my popups. They're 90mm hella high beam units that I'll use for a while until I pick up some HID projector lowbeams.

I'm still on the edge of it right now. I like it but it looks like a hack to me. I can't wait to get the lowbeams so I can clean everything all up. I'll be mounting the lowbeams in place of the stock fogs. I'll either be running a city light (194 wedge bulb) or halo ring as the turn signal/running light when I put the lowbeams in. Opinions?

With the motors/bulbs/popup crap removed the doors can just be lifted up right now. I had thought that they would fly up as soon as I started driving but they only shoot up while going fast on a bumpy road.

Bracket

Close up of the installed light sans foglight.

Seems interesting and different. I kind of like so far I'd like to see it completed. What do you plan on doing with the pop up doors? You should make the hood straight, get some sheetmetal and weld it in place to make an even hood. Good luck with everyhting.

I'd like to do something like that but I've always wanted to get an RA1 hood for the car for a bit of extra clearence underhood. I wonder if I could get one without the headlight doors cutout? hrmm...

EDIT: Ideally, my perfect hood would be an RA1 hood w/ the rear TA hood vents molded in the stock locations.... meh...

That might be something...I'm sure you or someone that knows fiberglass could delete the headlight portion as well if you can't get one like that from anyone already.

Most fiberglass companies make can a fiberglass hood without the headlight cutouts. Just call them and ask.
