well i really don't know but i don know that it was pretty heavy for me and my dad to move around so i don't think much for weight savings....Here's a few pics of the progress so far...seeing how i won't be able to do much today because I wasn't able to get paint or primer today cuz it's a sunday here's so far with the sanding....1st started to get the old window off (Glass) It was affixed bu some type of crappy caulking which was a real pain well you'll be able to see what happened to the window 2nd i proceeded by sanding by using 80 grit regular sandpaper then just keep doing that lol......

Spoilers that can go on the original Notchback (from the factory) are limited because there is a small divit in the middle of the notchback that prohibits using the iroc style 85-90, 91-92 Z28 high rise and early 82-85 style spoilers....The Baldin Motion Notchbacks can use any spoiler u want....of coarse u have to dill holes for the threaded studs but that's basically it. I'm getting more pictures as we speak.....I for one am using the 85-90 Iroc style spoiler on a baldwin motion notchback.....there are about 4 different design notchbacks...the Original which was included on the 88- correct me if i'm wrong 89 GTA Trans Ams, the Baldwin motion notchback was being made in the mid to late 1980's by a company in NYC today that notchback retails for about $1300, quite expensive but i've seen few for sale of either one and if used expect to pay around 400-700 dollars....The other notchbacks I'm sure you've all heard is from Hawksthirdgen site which i'm not too sure on what spoilers fit. and there's also the Tojan Notchback and the ferrari type notchbacks....I'll start posting pics... as soon as i'm done prepping and painting my notchback.

Good luck. Every glass place I took mine to just stared at the trunk. They were WORTHLESS!

Good work so far. I think the 91-92 z28 spoiler would look pretty cool on the notchback personally.

Make a pattern for the glass out of cardboard or wood and take it to the glass shop. Any GOOD glass shop will be able to cut the glass from your pattern and then send it out to be tempered. Just make sure your pattern is a good fit before taking it to the glass shop 'cause once it's cut and tempered it can't be recut. Also make sure to get your pattern back when you pick up the glass so if there is a fit problem you'll know if it is a problem with the glass or your pattern.

how much would you say that thing weighs? i'm assuming it would be much lighter than the factory hatch.

well....I';m not trying to jinx anyone out there but it might be at the most 15 lbs lighter.....they both seem about the same weight...so i dunno.....but the hatches from both firebirds and camaros are interchangeable including notchbacks (there both the same)

and the only factory notchback was on a firebird

looks very nice, one of the nicer looking notchbacks i've seen, original spoiler is a nice touch...really dislike that hi-rise one that i've seen done soooooo many times.

correct....and thank u....one thing i did notice is that u also have to apply a long bead of weatherstrip on the under side of the notchback...wear the weatherstrip meet it's not seeming up on the factory weatherstrip for some reason...
