interior door bushings? wtf

When I was swapping out my window motors, I noticed a round rubber bushing (broken) laying in the bottom of the door. Passenger side was the same too. Couldnt figure out what it came off of. Looks about the size of one of our upper shock bushings.

Anyone able to shed some light for me?

Thanks

I think thats for when the window goes down the glass sits on there. In the middle of the door u will see a braket it goes on top of that. If we are talking about the same thing.

Yup, the rivet feeds through that to cushion it from the glass...probably a rubber or teflon coated washer down in there as well

James I read your article a while back and recently tried searching for it but could not find it. Thanks for the link!!

I have not taken my door panels off since i did my window motors. I also discoverd that by using rubber washers when riveting the motors in place makes a diff with rattles.

I'm couldnt see by the diagrams incl in your post about where that pesky rubber bump stop is supposed to be.

Is it supposed to sit toward the inside of the glass or the outside? And where exactly is the bracket that holds it?

Thanks so much for your help

The bump stops are positioned at the bottom (underneath side) of the window channel itself at both ends. The window rests on the stops when the window is down. With the door panels off, you should be able to see the old rivets, which would still be in place even though the stop is gone. I used a Dremel to cut the rivets off, then simply used a bolt and nut to secure new stops.
