(New Sparcos!!)Got some questions

Got my torinos today i absolutely love them there 1000 x's nicer then i could imagine. The only thing that sucks is the brackets they sit way too high and the seats are close to the door so i guess ill have to run a low door bar on my cage. Got any opinions?? I got 2 seats 1 only together for now.

The top of the seat almost hits the roof.

http://memimage.cardomain.net/member...4_103_full.jpg

Heres what i was thinking of doing with the bracket.

It always seems like if you want to have something thats really nice like those seats are; you have to fabricate atleast a little bit. I'm sure it'll be very worth it! Those are some awesome seats.

yep. in fact mine just came in today. still waiting on the seats though, recaro doesn't even make brackets for our cars so they sent me those and universal sliders for them. i hope i don't run into the problem i had with the corbeau setup.

ahha i did mention it... along with the corbeau pieces and had you searched even on your own you would have found that info too however i have not heard of the sparco seats sitting as high as you claim which makes me wonder. before all else though i would return them immediately while you still can. these companies should not get away with things that don't fit. i had to cut the corbeau brackets 2" to fit. not fun by any means.

recaro doesn't even make brackets for our cars so they sent me those and universal sliders for them.
I have Recaro's from a Recaro TA and the brackets were very basic. I only got three and made the fourth one up in fifteen minutes. Very basic and if you guys are having trouble I could post up pics when I get the car into the shop this week.

Funny though cause mine sat too low I shimmed them up an inch and they fit nicely now. I dont think the seats were made special for third gens either... I think they are "Ride n Joy" model.

Yeh my stock sliders wernt in the best condition though. It was pretty dumb of me not to research more on the sliders but i figured since they were made for the car they would fit how could they sell somethin like that is beyond me. My brackets were for any 82-02.

The sliders on my car are stock. The exact same type used for any other third gen non power seat. The adapters fit the seat to the slider not the slider to the car.

One of the things I like best about third gens... ample leg room. Hard roof cars are a little lacking in headroom though.

Yeh well im 6'2" and im pissed I think it would be wiser to **** off the little guys lol. Ok i called wedge and they actually make everything but the sliders i have. They said they have a diff part number for the 82-92 might be a tad lower but he isnt sure well screw this i will mod them and make them better. Then maybe i should take some pictures and show them how its done on a f-body. Im not drivin a fricken semi here i got 4 wheels not 18.

I've had some trouble with my recliners too. They slowly recline on their own over time ( days not hours ) and the tilting **** used to fall out all the time and in time the cable stretched and i had to shim it out so the seats would release and recline. Not huge issues but annoying nonetheless. Goes to show how well made the OEM seats with regards to use and abuse at least.

Kandied are you LS1'ing this time round or not?

the seat brackets are 120 to 160 depending on how fast u want them. my clearance on these brackets are really nice i have more head room now then before.the redline is my clearance.

Hell yeh got it fitting perfect!! Now just for the pass side. Ok ill get pix later after I unbolt it but what i did was take all the stuipid adapter brackets off and bolted the sliders strait to the seat like there suppose to go on and how they are on most cars then I just welded the bracket strait to the sliders. Then for the console problem the adjuster just pops right off and it fits fine now . The way I have the seat it cant go anywhere and is perfect for my height. If you look at the pictures it cant go any lower even if i wanted it too. If i tried to go more forward the adjuster would hit the seat belt bracket and if i tried to go down it would also hit and back would be too far for my legs.

If your going with 5points why not just get rid of the bolt bracket. No need to leave stock belts in it.

Nice seats BTW, Good work on the brackets!

cut em off and weld a plate to the floor, weld a nut to the plate. Its alot lower then that bracket and would give you more room if you needed to make your brackets lower.

In Illinois we are required to have them. Harnesses don't count as seatbelts. IIRC DOT approved belts are required.
Also it kinda sucks when you are trying to reach for something during daily driving and you are strapped in tight.

Heres the pass seats its a lil closer to the door made that way cause of the ebrake i guess. I also hate the hump on the pass side its stupid not like they needed that big of a cat anyway. Its all good tho i like em and im satisfied now with how they fit.

Nice install there, and great seats. Changes my mind on the two tone look for those seats. All black looks real nice in actual photos.
