Painting and Prep

Ok im am going to be purchasing a 85 Iroc Z and am going to be totaly re doing the whole car. Im going to be doing the suspension and body work first. Painting isn't the problem...painted pleny of cars before with good results...What im wondering what would you recomend i do. strip the whole car with chemical paint stripper, sand it down or just take off the first layer and leave the primer. My dad has striped a 69 camaro down to bare metal with chemical paint stripper but it can be a pain to do...whats your recomendations.
Thanks
Andy

Are cars do not have a frame. Sub frame but not a full frame. About striping it if there is only 1 or 2 coats i would try to leave the factory one. I don't like chemical paint stripper . Its a mess it burns if u get it on u. I'm not the neatest person so no matter how hard i try the stuff gets on me.I like sanding if u keep your DA flat u find alot of your high and low spots. And if there are real little high spots it will take them out for u.
