Plastic Dent Help
Im looking for some advise on a dent in my front bumper. I have the 91-92 firebird nose on the car and when i bought it it had a large ( hand size ) indent in the front of the bumper. The dent is of center of the front towards the passenger side. I took it to a body shop and they said they could try and heat gun it but no promises. So i decided to go at it myself. I heated the bumper with a heatgun and set some weight on it to flaten the bump out ( its off the car ). I came out this morning and it was better but not great. So im going to try again tonight but try and put weight on the dent and push it back outwards a little bit.
Question is does anyone have a better solution? Or a better way of doing this. It seems like its going to work.
Another idea i have is im going to find some 1/4 thick plastic little longer than the dent is and cut 2 stripps about 1in wide. Bent these peices with the heat gun to match the side that is not dented. Then use some appoxy or plastic to plastic glue and glue that as support to the insde of the bumper.
Let me know what you guys think of these ideas
