floor board rust por-15 experts
i started to tear up my carpet, and i found some rust, it doesnt look too bad, how should i go about repairing it? i was thinking i could use por-15 on it, it looks like the padding is a little wet, must have a little leak somewhere.
can i just get like a quart of that por-15 rust prevent and brush it on?

It already looks to the point where I can see a hole? Can you push through it with a screwdriver?
id cut out the rust and weld in new patch pannels. Then POR15 the complete int.

I did the por15 thing to mine. Stripped the floor to bare metal Didn't have nearly as bad rust as yours though. But heres what I wrote about it in another post .
"I used POR15 over rust, paint, and bare metal. Both with and without metal ready on each. Followed direction for prep to a T. Didn't turn out well to any of them. (Seems though as it it stcuk to the painted area better? where I had overlapped) Its not peeling or anything but it scrtaches way too easily. Just be sure to use a water based degreaser.
According to POR, it will stick to paint but wont offer the rust protection as it would over prepped bare metal or rust.
also might want to try rust bullet. Haven't really heard any negeative about them. Like POR15, but they claim less prep needed."
As far as looks it turned out great, but whether it will protect good enough?????
Edit: a quart is plenty for the minimum 2 coats they recommend.
