Anyone here took out the ac and blower motor and all that good stuff on the passanger side? How hard was to do all that and will my heater work? POST PICS PLZ!!!!!! i am thinking of doing this and i kinda wanna see pics to see how much cleaner it looks and if it is worth not having an heater.. THANX!

I'm smoothing my firewall in the '87, but I haven't started on it yet so no pics. If you want the slick look with heat, you could use one of the smaller street rod heat units and mount it under the dash, with the heater hoses routed in a less noticeable way. On mine, I am planning to retain heat and AC (aftermarket, probably Vintage Air), with the compressor mounted low on the engine and the hoses routed through the fenderwell and into the car, so there will be nothing going through the firewall. Clean and functional. I'm also planning to adapt a wiper motor to the other side of the firewall, though I haven't worked out the details on that yet. Its common practice on street rods and 55-57 Chevies. The only major components on the firewall will be the master cylinders.

yeah i seen alot of cars w/ the clean firewallss...... but all that blower stuff can be removed? i dont mind a little stuff but i want it as clean as possible. i think i will do what you told me and re-route the heater hoses.
