Pro 5.0 Hits Radio, help

Well I installed a pro 5.0 along with a 4th gen center console and I ran into this problem. The Pro 5.0 is angled so far forward that its hitting my radio before it goes into gear. I thought maybe I put the base on wrong but I installed it with the writing right side up so I'm assuming that on correctly, it went in fine just it sits too far forward. Any ideas are welcome.

You can try swapping in a different mounting kit for the radio. I know they have flatter ones-instead of the one you have. That might give you that extra room you'll need.

ya could heat and bend the shifter. then send it out for chroming or powdercoating...Stupid option, but u'd need a second shifter for the time being. Or, pull ur radio until you can figure out a solution.

I agree with bending it. Even if you moved the radio back a bit, well your fingers would probably hit it. Or be very close. And annoying. I say bend.

You must have the shifter reveresed or the stops are way off. I just took a pic of mine with the 4th gen console and a B&M shifter it shouldnt be that much of a difference. I have a mile of distance. In the picture mine is in first gear.

A guy in my local car club says he thinks when he installed his the writing was upside down, I put the writing in right side up as I figured that was the logical way to put it in. If anyone can verify the writing was up top (near the radio) and reads upside down that would be a huge help.

Yes, it is on backwards.

The allen bolts for the shifter handle, should have the heads facing the passanger side of the car.

Well you can bolt the handle onto either side so I can't go by that, but I have twice confirmed the writing should be upside down, it faces right side up on mustangs but not f-bodies. So if anyone else is buying one keep that in mind and save yourself a headache.

I've got the Pro 5.0 and a 4th gen console and I have a lot of space between the shifter and the radio. I think I have the same radio mounting kit as you too.

I just went outside to take some pics,
1st gear,

neutral,

2nd gear

Okay I switched it around and it fits fine, although it doesn't go as far into 5th as it does any of the other gears. Its not touching the adjustable stops so I'm not sure whats up there, since the engine isn't together its something I'll deal with another day.
