Anyone opened up IROC parking lights?

I'm cleaning my parking lights up but it's difficult to get all the crap out with the clear plastic in. THe problem is the clear plastec is melted onto the black backing of the light. Has anyone successfully removed the clear lense and reattached it? I'm not wanting to render them completley useless.

Thank

Well kind of. It is one of those mods that a few people do. I have done it. It basically entails cutting the plastic lens off just behind the lens and then cleaning it and replacing it with a piece of clear 1/8"-1/4" plexiglass. Just Epoxy or JB weld it on and paint the trim. Looks MUCH better than stock

I dont understand how it would look much better than stock, basically you are just cleaning it so it looks new again aren't you?

No, the stock parking lights have two plastic pieces that are molded together. The first (inner) directs th light down toward the road and is molded like a basket ball feels. The outer piece is molded straight down. When you take those pieces off and replace it with one piece of plexi glass it looks like the newer cars lights, like a flashlight.

Go out and look on you Camaro and you will know what I am talking about.

I believe I was the first to do this. It was 2000, the same time I installed a parking lamp DRL circuit.

Oh, is it too much to ask if one of you who have done the mod can take a pic of it with the lights on?
