Yeah or no. I got this at the junk jard the other day. for 20 bucks the door was all messed up and there was a crack in the front that i fixed. So back to the door making one out of wood(yeah yeah i know) But it going to be a flat black like the rest of the counsel. Was thinking about putting 2 holes for cup holders. But I don't think its going to look right. So I could just cut that over hang off. What u all think

THat might be a bit too hard for your elbow after a while. I say pad it with foam and cover it in vinyl.

jay i like the idea except i dont think its practical cause my arm is always on the armrest where the cup holders would be. and you would want to at least pad it like the others are saying. some one did a tech article on here about installing cup holders in the ash tray aera. yoou might want to check it out if you didnt already

U painted some plastic in my truck on the armrests. Welp after 2 yars now it loks like *** b/c of my arm rubbing on it. Much like how parts of your steering wheel gets slick after quite a few years. I would wrap it if i were you.

Yeah I was that tec article. Was just thing of something diff. I thought the same thing about my arm being there. I don't think it will be a prob. I'm going to try it. If it don't work i can always cut that little bit off. lol. Not really worried about rubbing the paint off. Going to use dupon single stage with flater. So i think it should hold up.

Make another pad....

Cut a peice of thin wood and place on top. Put it behind the cup holders, but flush with the rest of the edges of the wood. Go to Wal-Mart and buy padding and black vinyl. Cut a piece of padding to fit the top of the wood. Wrap the pad and wood in vinyl, glue/ staple, and place the unfinished edge down. From the bottom of your original wood piece, insert screws to bind your new cushion. Since the unfinished side will rest face down and be sandwiched, it'll look professional.

Pad and Cup Holder.

Since you wont have much wood showing, give the wood that shows a nice finish with stain and poly. The poly will help protect against big gulps.

Round off those square edged first, then pad it and wrap it in vinyl. Then it would look good.
