Removing the doors

Hey guys I am about to remove the doors for a paint color change and need some advice. I have heard from you guys that aligninn them is a PITA and I am not looking foward to that part but am aware of it. Now I have sanded the exterer of both doors and need to take them off to remove the mirrors, sand the inside, and take them to get the door handles/key holes welded for shaving. The questions are as follows:

1) should I remove the window first?
2) if not leave it down or up?
3) how should I remove the rubber seal?
4) one person hold it while the other unbolt?

Anything you guys have learned from experience.

Another question...
How did you sand and paint around the rubber on the windshield?

I never removed my window from my third gen, but from past experience it is quite easy to remove a window from a door that is still on a car. Just be sure not to drop it though. Just my 2 cents. Good luck!
