LS1/T56 yeah I got that.... what I don't have is the 4th gen console with cup holders.

My car just got back from paint and I realized theres not a chance in the world I will be eating or drinking anything that even has the chance of messing up the interior. I am still undecided about the smoking though, I smoke less than once a week.

I still need to redo my interior, so I eat and drink in it right now.
I don't smoke, so no smoking in any of my cars. Smokers reek! I can always tell at work when one of the smokers has been outside for a quick puff.

And i thought i was a nut for trying to keep my car clean. See i Armor all every piece of vinyl/plastic inside my car once a month. I vacume it about 1 once a month as well, because i make sure my shoes n stuff are free of dirt before i get in. I wash the thing periodically and put turtle wax tireshine on it, and put armor all over the bumper pads to make the car look good. I drive my F bomb when the weather is nice, and when people ride in it, it is my assumption that when they look around themselves that they will sense a nice car. well they DONT! Ill tell you what really pisses me off, is when people put s*** on the dash board. Like the thing is your table, there hold your crappy stuff because you dont want to. Not in my car buddy, never, and i always make sure to correct people on that fault, another peeve of mine is when people try to close the damn door with.. wait for it.. the WINDOW!!! The damn thing is only secured by a few brackets-sure it wont break- and whats more is the finger prints left behind You should use the handle, thats what it is there for... I think i need to post signs on the door pockets and on the map pocket because somebody always thinks it is a convienient place to store junk. I am proud of the fact that those are what GM installed back in 89 and that they still cling to the door, rather than hang wide open, so last thing i need is people trying to stuff crap in them... Back to the basics- Absoultly no leaning or putting hands all over my car, its like your best freind's Gf, you can look but u cant touch Because i dont need any scraches and bs like that. then theres no eating, period, i mean i will pick the food up, but the dam bag is gonna be American food bc just about everything else will stink up the car and the bag is gonna rest on the floor 'till we get to the destination. No drinking either, because all it takes is a quick tap of the gas and bam, theres drink all over them, but more importantly, ITS ALL OVER THE SEATS And all im gonna get is "Im sorry" well that doesnt cut bc now i gotta waste time cleaing YOUR mess... Lastly no smoking, please. i dont need burns and ash all over the place, and its bad enought that you stink but please don't contaminate my car by lighting up. Yeah i guess i am pretty **** about my car, but heres my two cents: if you want something nice you have to work to keep it that way

I don't let anyone eat/drink/smoke in my car. The people I bought the car from used to smoke in it. The interior REEKED when I bought it. Gawd, it was a ton of work to get the smell out

Now that it's nice and clean and smells nice I don't want anyone getting in and treating it like it's their kitchen. Don't your crumbs mashed into my carpet. All it takes for their drink to get all over the place is stepping on the gas or on the brake. And smoking... the smoke just hangs in there and permiates itself into everything and just stinks. I don't appreciate holes being burned into my headliner, seats, rug, etc. And the film it leaves on the glass is a pain to take care of.

Amen, brother! Smokers will probably think I'm full of it but I can tell when the car in front of me has someone smoking in it. Mind you, before I drive my POS car again, it will be getting new seats, headliner- you name it (not to mention something better than the dreaded LG4/ TH200C + 14" wheel combo) so if anybody out there is afraid to smoke in their own car car but still crave the illicit thrill of smoking in a thirdgen, come hang out in my driveway!

Smoking in our cars will eat away at the glue that holds things together, like the headliner. So dont be surprised if your headliner starts to droop on top of your head, or if your arm rests begin to peel away from the doors ect... and i agree with ladyfirebird about it being a pain to clean windows with smoker film all over them, crap sticks and you will ruin tons of paper towels trying to get it off.

well you should think about not smoking in the car, because if you keep it up you will be treated to a sagging headliner, among other problems.

I dont think that is "always" true because it is very possible keep substantial amounts of smoke out of your car while smoking. Just riding down the road at mild speed with your window half way down is enough to get rid of alot of smoke but you should also hold the cigarette outside the car or near the window. I dont know, I imagine considerable amounts of smoke would be required to cut through the glue but I dont know, I dont know.

Well you can simply at a cupholder, from what I have seen it is easy. I once again have changed my mind and have decided that I wont smoke in my car, anyone can drink, only I can eat unless the person is very careful. My interior is all new and after going through the torture of reupholstering the seats I couldnt stand seeing a burn it them. My interior will be all black and charcoal though so I dont have to worry about stains that much.

I eat, drink, AND smoke in my car.

When I'm done eating, I wipe my mouth on the sunvisor, and I put the smokes out on my dash.

...

Nah, when I first got the car there was no eating or drinking in it, only smoking. If it was a cigarette then the person up front can smoke, but no one in the back seat...

But my wife quickly put the kill on that, she ALWAYS has a bottle of something to drink and it's hard to enforce a rule when she is RIGHT THERE breaking it... lol

I just decided to not care anymore once I made the decision that an entire 4th Gen interior is going in.

So that's why the previous owner of my car replaced the headliner before he put the car up for sale...

Seriously, though. When I bought my 87 it had about two full-size garbage bags worth of garbage in it, about five pounds of ashes, and all sorts of mold (leaking t-tops!) inside. Three months, a whole load of , and complete removal, cleaning, and reinstallation of the interior finally got rid of the smell. However, I am still left with a center console lid that looks like a$$ along with the base, and a falling apart GTA style driver's door panel. I have since replaced the radio pod (no radio mounts for an aftermarket radio doesn't work well as a theft deterrent) and repaired the dash map pocket, however since I am going to be converting the interior to black in the future, I am not quite as **** about interior cleaning as most- one of the rear seats needs to be recovered, and the large section of carpet needs to be replaced due to some a$$ letting the heater core leak all over the floorboards . The good news is that there is no interior rust .

well my old man owned the car before me and he didnt quit smoking unti two years before he gave it to me... I think cigs also mess with the electronics in the stereo, because the orig tape player was messed up, you couldnt control bass (all or none). Well that was the first thing i fixed but now i have the whole sagging headliner deal and it jus keeps getting worse, it started by the right side rear speaker but now has spread to the right sun visor and is approaching the dome light Ive got too many other things to do to it to worry bout the headliner rite now, and im not gonna put tacks in it so im going to have my own custom cloth hat when i drive my car sooner or later.

If I was you I wouldnt be so quick to blame everything on smoke. To say that smoke ruined your electronics is kinda iffy unless you dad hot boxed the car.

Nah I was just thinking that smoke would have trouble messing with your electronics unless you close the windows and the smoke is continually in the car because anyone I ever see smoke has the window down and cigarette right up there at the top. We seem to have alot of people on this site that enjoy hotboxing.

I eat and drink in my car, as its no big deal to me. I have carpet shampoo for spills and vacuum my car about once a week/two weeks anyway.

However, I don't smoke, so I would never let anyone smoke in my car.

Food - depends on the food. I try to avoid it, but if I'm running late for school I might grab some breakfast on the go.
Drinks- bottles w/ caps only.
Smoking- never, I'd kill anyone who ever lit one up in my car, especially without asking.
Dipping- everyday

I could care less about anything. Just as long as the windows are open. My friends aren't stupid enough to leave ash's, food or spill drinks in my car. Accidents do happen yes but hell man, cars can be cleaned. Obviously its personal preference but you guys need to chill out.

I just thought that I'd mention that once the interior is restored, unless I am on the road and am going to be on the road for a long time and have to eat, NOBODY eats, NOBODY drinks, and especially, NOBODY smokes in my car. I hate that smell!

Food wont do anything unless it smells strong or is so sloppy that it will get on your interior and even then you will be able to clean it out. Drinks are completely fine unless they contain red dye and you have a gray interior or something and its not like you have cup holders so the person will have it in there hand at all times. You should see my brothers and my dads car, there entire consoles are covered in coffee. Smoking shouldnt probably be done in a car in the first place if you have people who dont like the smell such as girls and parents because would you rather wait 10 minutes to get home or have an unpleasant smell for the passenger that will stay. I would never smoke weed in a car because your in a friggin car, thus when you are done you will be driving which is stupid to risk crashing. I have changed what I have said like 3 times by the way.

Well, ill tell what id do... If a girl does that in my car i would tell her that her feet belong on the floor, not the dash... being higher than an "6" doesnt justify anything, and sometimes people catch on to the fact that because they are hot they can get away with silly things like that, not with my stuff... i dont care what you look like, that to me is a form of disrespect and it shows they value nothing, take a look at that persons stuff, i bet you will find it to be rather trashy...

I eat, drink, smoke in my car. On the 20th I'll be replacing the carpet, and getting the seats reupholstered, and after that, ONLY I get to do any of that. Hell, I'm so ****, the only people that's driven the car other than myself was the guy who did my alignment, and my friend who has a '96 Camaro. And even then I was in the car with both of them

I'm scared at what I'm gonna find under the seats and under the center console

Maybe you should add.. it's the smoking of the drug known as MARIJUANA!

I will not eat, not drink and NOT smoke in my car.

I used to, but I completely stopped all of this nonsense. I realized I have one of the most badazz interiors ever to come from the factory

Well okay.. not entirely true. I'll smoke in there.. if it's GOOOOD ****

Well, i'm sixteen, going for my license on the 11th, and then after i get my fuel pump and windshield replaced, i will drive my Camaro. Stats to the side. It's a beater... You think you have a bad hood? Ha! Surface rust all over.. Though the interior is in good condition, the carpet being slightly stained here and there, BUT.

Eating - Nothing too sloppy, and if it's take out, it WILL be eaten overtop of the wrapper.

Drink - Bottle only. Cans and cups spill too easily.

Smoke - I'm not sure.

I don't really care because my car was out in a field before i got ahold of it, so it smells like watered down rat ****.. It's wonderful, really. And i'm driving it till it dies, then retiring it for parts or to a junkyard unless someone shows interest in buying it.
