T Top screens
T Top screens
I just git glass T Tops. They are not as dark as the old, cracked lexan. Do I remember reading (or seeing in some JY) a screen that slides in for REAL bright days when you're dressed up( think wedding guest) and you're using the A/C ?

If you want them completely blocked out for those occasions I have seen people make sunshades that slide in beneath the t-tops and sit on the ledge. You can just take them out and throw them in the backseat when your not using them. Similar to the shades that you slide across sunroofs. You could probably make them with some thin plexiglass and some headliner material and it would look pretty nice.

Some cars came with the t-top shades too. I have a set. I rarely use them though. You can probably find a pair on ebay if you look long enough.

Thanks for all the replies. I didn't know tinting could cause explosions. Could this be in extremely hot climates? I've never heard of this before. I did think of tinting but it's kinda cool on a full moon night with the glass tops. The existing tint is very light but the outside is mirrored so it reflects more direct sunlight.Moonlight seems to pass through moer easily, though.

I have a set of T Top shades from a 4th gen that could probably be modified to fit the thirdgens. I can send you a picture if you would like. I would take $20 plus shipping for em. They are factory grey.

I live in Southern California, and my dad has a '86 Vette with the targa top. It's tinted, and seems to have developed a series of hairline fractures along its structure.
The T-tops on my car are fine though, they were tinted when I got the car. But yeah I'd imagine that the tint itself could get pretty hot... would a mirror tint be better than a dark tint in that respect?

when I had my t tops in my 83 trans am it looked like they were tinted from the factory. Anyway. Isnt there a such thing as spray tint for glass which is a better quality then the paper type?
Either way. Im sure you can find a pair of shades for em easy.
