is this normal

i intalled new weather stripin that runs down and around the door and from what i can tell i did it write. but when i shut the door it would not shut with the normal effort, i have to slam it hard, are u suppost to work it in or something or did i do something wrong? should this be happening??

Is it SoffSeal by chance ?

Anytime you have a pretty good sealed cabin, you'll be closing the door against air/cabin pressure if it cannot escape... unless you have soffseal.. then you just shutting the door against hard-___ w'seal.

just my opinoin though...

The seal should form over time. Give it a month or two. If it still doesn't close right you may have some poor quality weatherstriping.
