Hatch pull down motors

Hatch pull down motors

my hatch motors release function is working but thats about it, iam wondering if i need a new motor or is it something i can fix, how can i tell.

First, the hatch pull-down unit and the hatch solenoid release are on separate circuits and separate fuses. Check out the tech article I wrote. Pull off the rear hatch surround trim panel and check that you have +12v at the red with white stripe wire that is plugged into the blue wire of the hatch pull-down unit. If no power, then check the fuse for teh hatch pull-down unit. On Camaro it is the #3 fuse (15 amp) located in the first row, third column of the fuse panel, on Firebird it is a separate inline fuse next to the fuse panel.
