loose steering column

Transmission: Auto
loose steering column

HELP... I can't pass annual inspection... my tilt steering column is loose, it appears to be loose about the pivot point, and I can't take off the lower plastice cover to see where the problem is... anyone know how to slide this cover down?

they suck.i need a new one too.ive had them re tapped ...retighted too...i want a new steering column too

look in the tech articles there an entire write up on how to fix this exact problem you need a couple pullers you can rent or purchase from your local autozone

ive already retighted before and have retapped,i want a better one to work wot,i dont ust the tilt part but didnt wanna give it up cuz i kno ill hate the factory position of a non tilt type
