converting my 3rd gen.

Okay call me lazy if you want, but I read almost 50 of the 5,000 posts about interior conversions, (no im not blonde, or female) but got confused really quickly. So if someone will help me out, there's much thanks. I have an 86 Firebird, V8 was replaced with a beefed V6, 5 speed. I've got the money but my budget unfortunatly has more than just me on it. I want to install a 4th gen. dash and gauge cluster on the roof tree, as well as consol, already got the seats. Im keeping the same streering wheel, i like it to well. What car do i need this stuff out of and what will work. Also is it possible put the front clip of a 97 TA on my bird, I just don't like the nose.

I don't think you can put on a 97 nose....but the 91-92 nose is probably the closest you can get., but that'll take some work.

All the stuff from the 97 would work for the interior. To make things work easier, you'll want early model 4th gen equipment, the later 98+ dash components can be a little harder, however, you can always use a 98+ dash shell, then use 97 and earlier guages.

Center console should be of the same era as the dash, so they'll match up right. So, if you've got a 93-97 dash, u need a 93-97 center console, if 98+ you'll need both 98+ units. IF you use a 98+ console, w/ a 97 and earlier dash, you'll have a 1.5" gap between the dash and console. IF you were using a 93-97 console, with a 98+ dash, the dash should hit the console, and not allow a proper fit.

Door panels will need some modifications to make them work, just do a search, im sure you'll find everything else ya need to get things working.
