does any one have an auto meter gauge cluster?

hey guys i was looking through my new Year One restoration catolog and on page 140 they have a complete gauge cluster..... for $699 ....it comes with 10,000 rpm tach, 160 mph speedo, voltage gauge, oil pressure, water temp..... it says it is buit to plug right into the factory wireing harnesses to be a simple swap.....
they have a couple different styles... you can get carbon fibre, white faced and one other one.... and again they come complete with the whole plastic houseing for them to bolt right into are cars.

does any one on here have this in there camaro yet.... i want to get the white faced set up with the black trim... part number CP135..

can some one post pics atleast of white faced auto metere gauges installed in there cars....

i dont think the $699 price tag is that bad being those gauges are expensive... and the kit comes with everything ou need to put it in and drive away...says the only thing needed is a speedp sensor...

get back to me guys....

on a second not my car is completely torn down and im rebuilding pretty much everything...

updating the whole suspension...along with undercoting
T5 swap
complete over haul of the interior along with a role cage....
car is getting repainted Viper blue along with some upgrades like...
shaved handles, locks, antenna
92 Z gfx
high rise Z spoiler
tail light black outs
solar wing
4 inch harwood coul induction hood
H4 headlight upgrade
clear side markers

there is a crap load more being done also....

the suspension is going to be getting all kinds of goodies

also i have a 400 being built as we speak with an estamated 425 hp and around 500 foot pounds of torque....

the car prolly wont be done till next year.... but id rather take my time on it and redo everything then do it half assed...

as for now im driveing around in a 98 neon lol.....the camaro is only going to be my Cruze car after this....

I don't have the white-faced Gauges but this is close enough to what you are looking for, by the way these are from Covans Classic---> http://covansclassic.com

Also you have to do a little bit of work with the wiring harness because "they say it's plug n' play" but really it's not but a pain in the ***.

Search the Electronics thread. Lots in there, mine included. I've heard the same about Covan's, not the "plug and play" they make it out to be.

Yes I believe that they are really worth the cash and alot of people ask me about them because alot of people haven't seen that type og Gauge-Cluster (something different) also you can get different bulb caps (s;eeves) for them too...to match up the rest of the lighting in the Car. here are a couple of pics, first pics is with the flash on.

...and flash off.

If U get the triple piller pod set up they will not fit . There have been many threads about poor fit--including me--the bottom pod is not lined up with the rest and it hit on the top of the dash--BAD, some worse than others!!!--U have to cut the top and bottom of pod that fits over the existing pillar, so U can move it up on the pillar an inch or two.

Once that is done the rest is as it ahould be--it looks good and even though I went through the frustration of not finding this out until I went to install it--called Auto Meter and they were very defensive and told me I didn't know what I was doing. Before health reasons made me quit doing it, i was racing and building dirt stock cars, late models, modifieds and sprint cars (crew chief of a local season points championship--never raced them) the last three years. Even if I do say so myself, I was a pretty good fabricator, so I have had experiance in making things fit! Theywanted me to send it back to them--would not say if/when they would send it back--THEY WERE TOTAL JERKS ABOUT IT!!!

I'll try and go back and find the thread about it and post it here. AS far as I know, the double fits good with no modification., and like I said once u make the modification, the triple does look good and I think I still like it more than the double!

The hell with hacking up the POS triple pillar, I had it and sent it back. Even mounted it just didnt look good with the whole OEM pillar covered with the autometer but thats just me plus I hated the way the bottom gauge hit the dash really BAD! So I just added a single and dual so I could still use the 3 gauges that I had. Looks good to me and I kept the bottom gauge off the dash about an inch.

The Auto Meter single, double, and triple piller pod clusters are for F-bodies, not just Camaros (I think) go to Summitt or Auto Meter and check it out!
