Weld SFCs and cage w/engine in or out?

I'm going to be welding in sub frame connectors and a cage, and I was wondering if I should do it with the engine in or out of the car (w/t-tops). The car is stripped now so it would be easy to weld in a cage and SFCs, and the body wouldn't be stressed, so I thought it would be a good idea to do it before I put the engine, tranmission and interior back in. Pros, cons?

Now. Car is already apart and ready now. Do you want to assembe it all and then take it out again?

Long as it's supported by 4 wheels on a drive on hoist, should't be a problem. A racing jig would be best but we can dream right?

I can't think of any cons. The drive train weight doesn't matter till you start adjusting the suspension. Ride height is a thing of personal taste.

Caught a good tip about having the frame straightened before installing SFC's. Definitely something I'll be doing with mine as my front tires rub on the inner front fenderwells if I go over a series of bumps or tight turns. It'll be nice having all that room to POR 15 the hell out of everything as well. Definitely post some pics along the way.
