lift the hatch
there are a couple plastic plugs on the underside (your looking for the big ones)
pry em gently with a putty knife (a good stout one though, they are IN there sometimes)
and then you have access to all four bolts that hold it on.
I believe they are 3/8's but don't take my word for it, I just did this the other day to my brothers 85 Firebird though and it was cake
took 5 minutes
