Did all the 82' firebirds come with PMD seats, or were they a special order item? I'm not up to speed on Firebird/Trans Ams. My brother-in-law has an 82 with a PMD interior. Just curious.

Not all Firebirds, but, they are very common in 82.

The PMD seats where part of the deluxe interior option which got you nicer seats, door panels, carpeted kick panels, dash map pocket, better sound deadener and a few other minor things. The official name for the PMD seats was "Viscount bucket seats" Leather seating surfaces was available on tan and red Viscount interiors.
The base interior was the same as the base Camaro interior with vinyl seats with square integrated head rests, vinyl dielectric pleated door panels, and not much more. Cloth seating surfaces where availble in select colors on base interior.
The Viscount/deluxe interior option was standard on Firebird S/E and optional on base Firebird and Trans Am. Its pretty common on Trans Ams.
