Back of RAMAIR Hood II coming up @ 50MPH
The back left of my hood is coming up when I get close to 50MPH. I am not sure what to do.
Don't say anything about the paint. I know it looks like crap. My dad did not clean out the spray gun good enough after he applied the primer. Let that be a lesson to you. Always clean up after yourself. Hopefully next weekend my dad and I will be able to repaint my car and it will be all smooth and shiny.
Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Yes, it fits even. It looks awesome when the car is not moving or i'm going slow. I just lifted up the hood to show what it looks like when i'm going fast.

I have the same hood on mine but not sure if it is doing that on mine or not but it could be that since these hoods are lighter than the stock steel hoods could it be that the air is getting behind it and slightly pushing the lift support up causing the hood to raise back there. This is just my thoughts on what might be happening.
Hey man I wouldn't feel too bad about the paint, there is a guy around here who runs a body shop on his farm and everything he paints turns out orange peely or else has runs in it
Oh btw do you have some struts for your hood (not the stock ones of course), but yeah if you have ever pushed down the hinges for the hood by hand without a hood, you can tell the struts keep the hinges down.

my RAII hood does the same thing. But I know it was because the hood struts weren't on it. Is your hood functional or uncut?

I had that hood and used my stock hood struts, just opened and closed the hood very carefully.
Mine didn't lift at all at any speed, but you could see it shaking.

well right now my whole car shakes LOL
but I've had the hood on the car for
almost i think 3/4 years now........
she's just been sitting parked for the most part
i just need to find a way to keep the hood open
with out the ugly a stick / pole
so did you use working (new) struts or an old worn pair????

I used the ones off of my friends 82 which were in decent shape. I think he eventually went with new ones for the early Camaro hood which I think was aluminum or fiberglass since he too got sick of using the metal stick.

dont know if your into this sort of thing but maybe try pinning the hood. i have a 4" cowl hood with stock hinges in back WITHOUT struts and 2 pins on the front of the hood. read somewhere that fiberglass hoods can delaminate and come apart so i think it was a good idea.. never had any problems with the hood coming up in the rear
