seat mounting bolt/nut

I need to know the proper size...two of my old nuts (ones with the washer nut combo..) were really badly rusted and i rounded them off pretty bad preparing to put in my new interior and anyhow...

i went to ACE and got 5/16 nuts and nice thick washers and the nuts will only turn onto the studs about 2 turns and get stuck so i know they arent the right size

does anyone know the right size nut...metric i presume?? 8mm??? i tried course and fine threaded 5/16 and they dont work

please someone respond quickly to this someone surely has had to replace these nuts due to rust and crap

Not sure on the correct size, but 4th gens use the same bolt sizes. Rip one outa a J/Y. BTW, i think they are fine threaded and not course... That could be why those specific 5/16's won't fit.

The front seat mounting bolts are METRIC and take a 13 mm hex size. cant give you the metric threads size, but now you know what to look for.

FYI, GM started using mostly metric fasteners begining in the late 70's ...

The drivetrain is about the only thing that still used standard.

You shouldn't think so much, and just read.
