Direct bolt in. If the camaro console came from one with power windows then you're all set, no need to cut it to mount switches.

My console (Camaro) has the HVAC controls molded into it

My brothers (Firebird) doesn't

I don't know exactly what that's going to entail for you, just letting you know.

If its molded in (my camaro console wasn't) then just plug it in and you should be good to go.

He meant that the radio pod/HVAC mounting area was molded into the conter console. I can't say I've heard of anyone wanting to ditch the rounded firebird console for a maro one though.

Oh yeah, the radio pod is molded in. Just pull the FB radio pod and its no problem.

Please let me know if you decide to go with the Camaro center console because I have a 1989 Firbird Formula 350. I'm interested to see if it fits. I installed a B&M Mega Shifter (universal) because the console ones wern't made for Formulas. My center console & Radio/AC console are in bad shape.

Thanks,
CWH

i'm deciding on what to do
i may make my own console out of wood and carpet it

the way the firebird console bubbles out on the side near the shifter plate annoys me to death

also her console lid is broken too
hence the reaon i was thinking about using the camaro one, wasn't sure if the whole radio pod assy and all would have to change

then i can also easily mount the console shifters

i'd like to see photos of your shifter that you put in, the universal one.
