More headliner repair questions.
Ok, I have most of my foam off the fiberglass. But i have one problem, in a few spots it looks like i actually took off some of the fiberglass too. So i have a few low spots and valleys in the fiberglass. What can i use to fill these holes? Maybe i can fill it with some of my contact cement? Or fiberglass hardner. I would really like to coat the whole thing with hardner to give me a smoother surface to glue to. Does this sound like a good idea?
Thanks
John

WHat I do when I am redoing headliners is this,
Go to your local fabric store, they should have Headliner foam in stock or some other form of foam liner, I then spray glue that onto my Area and smooth it out, this also helps cover rips and tears and smoothes out lines along the head area. I thin cover the foam with the fabric I choose and cover the foam. I usually wait a day for the foam liner to dry and then do the fabric over.

Smoother? Did you take some huge chunks out? I have done a headliner and that stuff is very forgiving. I don't think slight changes in the surface of the headliner backing will have a very big effect on the covering material. I could be wrong, but uless you have more than an 1/8 - 1/16 of an inch difference, you probably wont notice.
